Halo 2600

I thought it was a Flash game, turns out I'm wrong!

Halo, perhaps the most memorable first person shooter of the last decade, has been brought to the Atari 2600, the most memorable console of the early 1980s.

The frightening thing is... it's actually quite good.

Now a top-down shooter, Master Chief finds himself wandering through a mass of bright colours collecting keys and shooting things, assuming you pick up a gun. It's a very simple game - a bit like the 2600's Adventure with added weaponry.

For the Atari 2600, the graphics aren't too shabby, which is why I was under the impression it was too advanced to be an Atari 2600 game. Obviously there's been plenty of sacrifices, but it looks a bit like Master Chief and the Covenant also look like they're supposed to. The colours don't always make sense, but this was common with 2600 titles. Just be thankful there's some colour to see.

There's not much to say about this one - I think it's nifty, you might do too. You can also play it online.
